That's so funny! It must take training to balance. If one guy's a little bit off, he'll tip the whole thing right over.

Oh yeah, TEAM work,Go team! I want to design the uniform!

It wasn't quite the kind of canoe I had pictured wearing on my feet. These are slightly bigger and it looks like you need to have friends in order to wear them. But, it also looks like it could be lots of fun.

Were you at Camp Magruder canoeing??? When was that?

I love the new song. Mmmmmmm never go back again... mmmmmm.

BTW, I was a camper at Camp Magruder for 3 years and a counselor 4 years. I taught kids to row a boat and to canoe. :o)

duh! I went camping at some camp with you. in highschool, we had to
row up stream to get out onto the lake. I think that was you.

Oh, yeah! I had totally forgotten that we went to camp together one year. That was Suttle Lake Camp in central Oregon. You were very close - both United Methodist camps. And you can learn to canoe at both of them. Both have a lake... But Magruder is at the coast.

I'm pretty sure that I showed you around Magruder one time when we drove to the beach for an overnight or something. We may have gotten a chance to use "The Swing" (rope swing out over a small hilly overhang). But we mostly just looked around, if I remember right.

I do remember the very crowded car!
tiny car, 4 adult size people, camping gear, suit cases, and oh yeah, GRAM.

Let's say 3 1/2 adult sized people. I was not too terribly large at the time. :o)

I was a recreation major and took canoing as a class in college. The instructor was a crabby lady who had absolutely no patience. We practiced in the school swimming pool until it was warm enough to actually go somewhere. In the pool, we each had to swamp the canoe and then get back in while it was still filled with water. I still remember how to do it.

I went up Irondiquoit Creek in an infaltable canoe once. I would recommend using a "regular" canoe over an inflatable one. You never know where sticks are submerged in the water. We managed to do okay, no major incidents, but I did worry alot.
