The Underware Woes!

About once a week I hear this coming from my son, daughter, and now my husband.

"where is my underwear"

In my house we don't have a dryer that will eat socks, oh no that would be to normal,
and well apparently we aren't
No in my family we have a dryer that eats underwear.
No I am sooooo not joking!
I wish I was! see I actually do the laundry three times a week, and that is a low estimate.
Your standard colors, whites and sometimes two loads of each!

Now for some this is nothing but for us it is normal.
so when I hear a loud grumble(some words are not worth mentioning)from my husband in the walk in closet at three am (yes I said three) in the morning "where is my underwear"!
you can only imagine my frustration.

so at four am when I finally got back to sleep after spending 15 minutes finding a clean pair(in the closet) of underwear. I dreamed of ..... oh yah Underwear!
so the next day what did I do...... oh Yah baby, I bought the man 6 pair of underwear!

Now this morning what do I hear at three am "where are my socks?!"
No I am not JOKING!!!!! they were in the dryer , clean!
so I have decided that this is what the kids are getting and the husband too
a hanging shoe rack so that they have underwear and socks for each day of the week!
oooooooohhhhhh!!!!!

Oh yeah! You are so smart, sounds like a great solution to you sleep problem. I so belive in downward deligation, making others responsible for their own undies. Now if you wanted to get just a tiny bit of revenge; roll his socks military style before you put them in "undies rack" :o)

We occasionally have the underwear problem too, I just buy more. In my case I think I sometimes get a little lazy about throwing in a load if I have a headache or have too much on my mind.

No revenge needed (no need to upset the hubby). I'm sure he'll love your new solution to his problem!

rachel, the rolling of the socks is an old family joke, when I was the evil step daughter I would do the laundry and to be mean to my step father at the time I would roll his socks instead of folding them, I would also reverse his underware .... yah it was mean...

The organization closet things look like a great idea. I love organization things like that. I'm very lucky (or should I say blessed?) because my husband does his own laundry. I do his on occasion, but mainly he does his own. I don't even know which drawer he keeps his underwear in and which drawer he keeps his socks in. And I'm perfectly fine with that. A customer of mine was telling me that for Easter her kids all get new undies. They are diabetic and so they do not get candy in their baskets. Do you think they look forward to waking up to new undies on Easter morning?

Looking on the bright side... At least you know they are changing their underwear.

At our house the difficulty is with the washer woman who has a tendancy to leave clean, folded laundry sitting in the basket for several days...

mmm yes the tendancy is to leave clean clothes in the dryer. often my comment in the morning to the kids is " go get your clothes on and if you can't find it look in the dryer"
sad sad sad. 8(

funny! I was thinking this might be good to realy know they are actually changing their underwear. (the kids...I'm sure your husband doesn't need policing).

That's a funny story. Great solution.

My hubby will often throw in a load of wash, but he very rarely will fold and put them away. -sigh- but that's okay. I didn't realize something until one night we were having dinner with company over. Denis told them that he detests doing laundry. Since then, I feel much happier doing the laundry because I know that it is a blessing to him.

Craig detests the sound of the vacuum cleaner so I have to use it when he's not in the house.

Never wash brand new undies with a rose colored sweater. (unless your hubby doesn't mind purple)

When my brother was little he would count out (clean) underwear for each day of the week to put in the laundry.

I accidentally turned all my ex husbands socks & underwear pink once- and I never told him. (He is color blind and never found out.)

LOL! that is very hard to believe, Kris. But I do believe you...

Great new song, T!

My favorite story is when he was tearing the house apart looking for his favorite gray sweater and I said, "Oh, you mean that pink one you always wear?" (It really was gray and I did come clean about that one.)
