job

well I have been hired by the Portland city parks, here is what I will be doing for my summer below is a softball field see the lines and see the pretty pattern on the field itself. yes this will be my job. it is not the job I was hoping for and it is quite a bit more physical than I wanted, but I have done this work before for the Portland parks and they do know me. I have been trying to figure it out. all the other job doors have been shutting and so this seems to be the place that the Lord really wants me to be in, even if I can't see why. so on ward i will go pushing forward.

Congratulations on the job. :) I'm sure God has a reason for putting you there.

pushing forward and looking up?
Positives; a great tan, drawing happy faces on a large scale, good hours, making dust clouds. Geometric challenges?

You will be great for the job I am sure. And it will be good for you to be outside....
Congratulations! Less blogging, what??
Sooner or later that will come to me, too (more work I mean)

Congrats!! I could use the exercise - sitting at my laptop all day isn't doing my body a bit off good.

Congratulations! When do you start? I do remember when you did the ball parks come to think of it. I had forgotten that phase...

My slide show is up. :o)

Congratulations! You will get to be outside and I bet you will get to dress very casual (no pantyhose!). It looks like fun. Don't forget the sunscreen.

Cool. I can't wait to hear more about it. How do you put the lines down, and do you get to go all over town? Do you get to drive a city vehicle? Do you work with a team or by yourself?

you have a 50lb bag of chalk and you pour it into a wheel barrle type thing that has a whole in the bottom and a sifter wheel, when you move it lays down a line of chalk. you close the whole or open it just wide enough for a nice 2inch line.
yes I will be going all over town and we work mostly in teams, we drive a city vehicle.

Yep, I checked it out, New Balance and Converse produce steel toed tennis shoes for women! That would solve your tan line issue. Now to find tham locally....hummm. Now, what to do about sun glasses and hairy legs.. :o)

so how do you make sure the line is straight?

two ways to make the lines straight.
1. you have a string you run from the tip of home plate to the outside of first, then follow the line
2. you eye it. only the ones who know what we are doing or have been doing it for awhile do this, it is faster to do it this way.

Phhtt! I can't do a straight line! Too many things to see between point A and point B. I guess you have to be focused.

So do you use the string or eyeball it.

Wanna trade jobs for a day or so? I'd totally use the string, but my goodness, a job that let's you enjoy the outdoors and get blessed quiet time to think (when you aren't dealing with co-workers) ... for you, better than an office job. I think an office job would drive you nuts :)
